Best Sleep Aid for Insomnia (scroll to bottom for best sleep aids)
What is the best sleep aid for insomnia? If you suffer from insomnia, you are not alone. There are more than 3 million new, reported cased of insomnia each year in the United States alone.
These are just the reported cases. The actual number is likely much higher. It is estimated that some 35 million Americans suffer from chronic insomnia.
Insomnia, also known as sleeplessness, is a sleep disorder where people experience difficulty sleeping. They may have trouble getting off to sleep, or staying asleep as long as needed or desired.
Also, waking early, and not being able to get back to sleep is a common insomnia complaint.
Those with insomnia, also called insomniacs, may express dissatisfaction with their sleep, and usually have these symptoms: low energy levels, fatigue, concentration difficulties, moodiness, feeling sleepy during the day, anxiety, stress, and performance issues at work or school.
I will explain why sleep is so important to your health, what causes insomnia, the best ways to treat, and overcome insomnia, and the best natural products available to treat, and help eliminate insomnia. (scroll to bottom)
Why we need sleep
We need a minimum of 5 straight, uninterrupted hours of sleep per night. This means not getting up to go to the bathroom, or to let the cat out or in, to get a snack, or for any other reason. Ideally we need 7 to 8 hours of total sleep per night.
Without 5 straight uninterrupted hours of sleep, we make less than 30% of the adrenaline needed to provide energy for us during the day.
Many of us turn to coffee to provide the needed boost. Coffee, unfortunately can flog the adrenal glands, compounding the issue of insomnia.
As adults, we need 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night in order to to repair our bodily tissue, grow muscle, and for hormone synthesis. Sleep is also needed in order to help our brains to process, and store information.
The strength of our immune systems are also dependent on adequate sleep. Without adequate sleep we are more prone to invasion of viruses, and other infections.
What Causes Insomnia
There are many causes of insomnia. One of the most common, and most overlooked causes is with the gallbladder. In TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine, sleep and the gallbladder go hand in hand. Many times, a simple gallbladder detox, or cleanse can alleviate sleep problems.
Gallbladder issues are normally due to a diet of processed foods, refined foods, fried foods, and fatty meats.
Switching to a more raw, organic, plant based diet can help the entire body going forward.
Poor Digestion – Eating too late at night prior to sleeping
Caffeine – Drinking caffeine drinks like coffee too late in the day
Urination frequency – can be caused by prostate problems in men
Sleep apnea – breathing issues while sleeping
Circadian Rythym Disruption – Sleep/Wake cycles(often initiated by travel or a change in schedule)
Prescription, and Over the Counter Medications, and their side effects.
Insomnia can be caused by a single factor, or a combination of factors.
Stop the Behaviors that Cause Insomnia
There are many ways to treat, and overcome insomnia. You should look for and address the behaviors that may be causing the problem.
The easiest, and simplest solutions are to eliminate the bad habits or behaviors that may be at the heart of the problem. For instance, if you eat late at night, you should stop. Food should not be eaten past 7 p.m. in the evening.
Your body needs to fully digest any food before it will allow you to sleep. To compound the problem, most people have diminshed levels of HCL, hydrochloric acid. These levels decrease as we age. Lower levels of HCL make it more difficult to fully digest food.
If you find that you have to get up during the night to urinate, and you have eliminated the possibility of a prostate problem, you should also limit the amount of water or other beverage that you drink late at night.
Although I am a big proponent of staying hydrated, if you have trouble sleeping, you should eliminate drinks of any kind after 7 p.m.
Many people, myself included, enjoy drinking coffee during the day. The caffeine in coffee is a stimulant, and if taken too late in the day, may make it difficult to go off to sleep at night.
Ideally, you don’t want to ingest caffeine past noon during the day. Coffee is also a diuretic which can increase the frequency of urination.
You may be able to go later in the day before stopping the caffeine, but I notice that if I drink coffee past 2 p.m., some nights it is more difficult for me to get to sleep.
Some medications are designed to help you sleep, others like amphetamines, have the opposite effect. I don’t recommend taking any drugs, prescribed or otherwise, unless necessary.
Once they have served their purpose to help you past whatever traumatic, or acute issue you were experiencing, it is better to stop.
All drugs have side effects, and some will disrupt your sleep. Also, if you need the occasional sleep aid, I recommend that you go the natural route with melatonin, valerian, chamomile tea, or something similar, instead of a drug.
Drugs for sleep will often give hangovers, or provide a tired, sluggish feeling the next day that may make work, or school more difficult.
Drugs can also be habit forming or addictive, and may make you dependent on them. If you need a drug every night to help you sleep, there is an underlying issue that should be addressed.
It could be a digestive, gallbladder problem, or stress, or anxiety related.
Other insomnia causes may take more time and effort to eliminate. Pain, and inflammation, for instance may require a regimen to provide relief.
Always better to look for and attempt to eliminate the cause of an issue than to just treat the symptom.
Treating symptoms may give you temporary relief, but if you don’t find, and eliminate the cause, it is only a matter of time before your symptoms come back, and possibly worse than before.
Best Ways to Treat and Help Eliminate Insomnia
The best sleep aid for insomnia may not be a pill. Earthing Earthing or grounding is described as connecting the electrical flows of the body with the electrical flows of the earth.
This is achieved by merely walking on the earth barefoot, or can be accomplished inside your home by using a grounding pad for the bed, or for the floor.
This technique has been shown to help alleviate sleep issues, as well as many other health concerns.
Gallbladder Detox and/or Flush The gallbladder can be at the core of many sleep problems. Due to our unhealthy diets of processed, refined, and fried foods, the gallbladder can become jammed, and as a result, effect our ability to sleep.
A good gallbladder flush, or a detox may provide much needed improvement in sleep, mood, and energy.
Once you establish an earthing program, and detox, and flush the gallbladder, if needed, I believe you will also eliminate or at least minimize the intensity of the pain/inflammation, and any stress or anxiety that may be related to your insomnia.
Liver Detox I would also recommend a liver detox program. The most effective way to detoxify the liver is with a coffee enema. Coffee enemas should be undertaken at least twice a week for 12 to 13 weeks.
Use a good organic coffee, and an anti infective herb. Turmeric is also beneficial for the liver as a detoxifier, and can help with pain and inflammation.
Especially for women that are pre menopausal, or menopausal, a liver detox is important to rebalance the hormones.
Essential oils and weight loss have been around for many thousands of years. Different civilizations have used essential oils for many practical uses for over 6000 years. These civilizations include Romans, Indians, Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese.
Man has utilized essential oils, and their amazing properties for many different applications. Primarily, these versatile oils are used for healing.
There are, however, many other ways to benefit from essential oils including the area of weight loss, and weight control.
Although not as well known as the other ways to take advantage of essential oils, they are very effective for fat loss, and weight loss.
I will cover what essential oils are, the different ways to use them, the best essential oils for weight loss, and where to buy them.
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are aromatic, volatile plant compounds that occur naturally. They are hydrophobic liquids that are concentrated.
Within the plant they can be found in the flowers, stems, seeds, bark, leaves, and roots. Not all plant contain or produce essential oils. There are natural, and synthetic essential oils.
Essential oils are also known as aetherolea, ethereal oils, volatile oils, or as the plant oil from which they were derived.
Essential oils and weight loss have improved lives for countless years, providing a plethora of life enhancements including religious, spiritual, dietary, cosmetic, emotional, intellectual, and physical.
Not all essential oils are beneficial. Some essential oils can cause problems, even serious harm. A few called photosensitizing oils can cause burning of the skin when exposed to sunlight for extended periods.
These oils include cumin, grapefruit, lime, bergamot, and lemon essential oils. It is also a good idea to not expose young children under the age of 1 year to essential oils.
Care should also be taken that essential oils are not ingested by children due to potential toxicity.
How are Essential Oils Used?
Essential oils are most often used when generated from the plant using the distillation process. Essential oils are made up of tiny molecules that can be absorbed by the body through the skin, or by inhaling through the nasal passages.
These oils are delivered for use by different methods. These methods include diffusing, steaming, topical application, ingesting, and smelling the oils.
Diffusing Diffusing essential oils is done with the use of a diffuser that emits the oils particles into the air that is then breathed in. This is also known as aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is defined as the art of utilizing essential oils to harmonize and balance the mind and body. This is achieved by stimulating certain parts of the brain which strongly effect the body, and the mind.
A typical ultrasonic diffuser machine uses silent, ultrasonic waves to diffuse water with your choice of essential oils to instantly fill your environment with their stimulating effects.
This process does not use heat to diffuse the oils. Heating the oil can damage or compromise it’s beneficial properties. Because you smell and breathe these oils, you want to utilize oils that have pleasant aromas.
Some of the more popular essential oils used for diffusing are lemon, pepperment, lavender, cinnamon, frankincense, and eucalyptus. 30 to 45 minutes is normally sufficient diffusing time for you to reap benefits, and will help conserve the oil.
Topical Topical application is the process of simply applying the oils directly on to the skin. This allows the essential oil to be absorbed through the skin, and into the blood stream.
Due to the fact that these oils are fat soluble, they can be absorbed easily through the skin. However, due to the inherent strength of essential oils, they should be diluted prior to being applied topically.
Dilution of essential oils is accomplished with the use of carrier oils, not water. Generally speaking these carrier oils are used in a high ratio compared to the essential oil. Refer to usage information for the correct ratios of carrier oils to essential oils.
Some of the more common carrier oils are: coconut, grape seed, almond, avacado, and sunflower.
It is easy to utilize the benefits of essential oils by steaming. Start by heating filtered water on the stove until it begins to steam.
Although not recommended, you can also fill a large cup or mug with filtered water and heat it in the microwave for 2 or 3 minutes.
Be very careful not to microwave the water for longer than this. It is much safer to heat the water on the stove.
Pour the water into a large cup or bowl, and put a few drops of your choice of essential oil into the water. This is very potent.
Close your eyes, or wear glasses to protect your eyes. Move your face over the cup or bowl, and breathe in through your mouth and nose.
You should immediately feel the results through your nasal passages, and through your mouth and lungs. This is a good, quick way to feel the effects from the essential oils.
Inhaling The simplest, and easiest way to feel the effects of essential oils is to just open the bottle, and smell the contents.
It is also useful to open a bottle and place it in a bathroom, or anywhere else you would like to enjoy the scent of an essential oil without having to deal with a diffuser, or steaming the oils.
Diffusing is optimum, but this method can give you that quick pick me up to make you feel better.
Ingesting (This method should only be attempted by or with guidance of a Certified Aromatherapist.) Caution should be used when considering ingesting essential oils.
Ingesting essential oils is an effective delivery method for some oils. It is also not a good idea for other essential oils. Most, if not all essential oils should only be ingested when mixed with a carrier oil.
Some oils can also be ingested by putting a few drops in a cup or glass of water and drank. Essential oils should never be given orally to children. Never let a child ingest essential oils.
Frankincense, and lemon, because they are gentle, can normally be ingested under the tongue. Other oils are more caustic, and can cause problems if ingested, or not ingested properly.
Therapeutic grade essential oil that is organic, pure and free of toxins and additives, and is also undiluted and unfiltered is best for this method.
Best Essential Oils for Weight Loss
Weight loss is another very practical application for essential oils. Some essential oils help burn fat, control sugar cravings, aid digestion, curb emotional eating, and others help suppress the appetite. An added benefit is to detox the body by helping to flush, and remove toxins.
The most effective essential oils for weight loss include Rosemary, Grapefruit, Fennel, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Bergamot, Lemon, and Ginger among others.
Rosemary essential oil helps control weight by limiting cortisol, the stress hormone. This helps control the emotions, and emotions often lead to excessive eating, and resulting gaining of weight.
Grapefruit essential oil is derived from the rind or peel, works by suppressing the appetite, detoxing the body, burns and dissolves fat,and is a diuretic. The active ingredient that helps achieve this is a compound called nootkatone.
Fennel essential oil is excellent for appetite suppression, helping digestion, and regulating circadium rythyms of sleep cycles.
Fennel contains melatonin which in addition to aiding sleep, also tell the body to burn fat instead of storing fat.
Sandalwood essential oil helps to bring about an emotional balance. By controlling stress, and emotions, you are less likely to turn to food for relief, which can keep your weight loss objectives on track.
Frankincense essential oil can ease depression, and anxiety which can lead to turning to food, and overeating. It also helps aid digestion, and fat burning by increasing the metabolism,
Bergamot essential oil also calms anxiety, and depression, which can bring about emotional eating. Bergamot also helps burn fat, and decreases sugar which can slow fat burning.
Lemon essential oil can assist in breaking down and dissolving of fats in the body, provide detoxification, and improve digestion.
Ginger essential oil helps in nutrient absorption of your food, and at the same time aids in digestion. Better absorption provides more energy, and helps to increase metabolism, and burn fat.
Other essential oils that assist with weight loss include peppermint, jasmine, orange, and eucalyptus.
Where to Buy Essential Oils
When buying essential oils you want to be sure that they are 100% organic with no chemical, fillers, additives, or other adulterations which can affect the efficacy as well as toxicity of the oils.
I recommend Color Earth for essential oils, and many other organic products such as chocolate, and supplements. They create high-quality, effective and affordable products which are made using living ingredients from nature.
And because the earth has given us these ingredients, they believe in giving something back in return.
They pledge that for every Color Earth product sold, they’ll plant a tree in the developing world—growing food, restoring soil and building a sustainable future for people in rural communities all over the globe. This is made possible through Color Earth’s partnership with Trees For The Future.

My name is Tom. I have dated online for almost 20 years. I can honestly say that online dating can be a great way to meet people. I met my current girlfriend of the last 3 years online. How to dating online will provide tips, tricks and what to avoid.
Dating online can also be a great waste of time, and money, and contribute to emotional stress levels. The results you get all depend on how you go about it.
I will share with you some of what I have learned about online dating, both the good, and the bad.
Hopefully this will keep you from wasting your time and/or money (like I did), and assist you in finding what you are looking for more quickly, and with less resulting stress.
I will tell you about some of the different dating sites, what to put in your profile on the site, including pictures, and why.
I will also tell you what to look for in other people’s profiles, what to say when you contact someone in order to get a response, and how to correspond.
You will learn the best steps to take to ensure you get a date, where to go on your first date, how to proceed if your date goes well, etc. You will also learn how to achieve your objectives with your new relationship, and a lot more.
Now, it’s true that I am a guy, and I am coming from a guy’s perspective. However, there is information for and about the ladies that I believe can also benefit them.
This will also let the ladies know more about the guys, how we think, and why we do the things we do, which I’m sure can also be useful.
Online dating has been called the ‘singles bar of the new millenia’.
I only wish that I had this information when I started out dating online back in the late 90’s. Although, I think you will discover that it is mostly just common sense.
When I first broached the idea of dating online back in the late 90’s, there were only a handful of actual dating sites. I don’t recall if I stumbled upon it while online, or if a friend or coworker first told me about it. What I do remember is that I was hooked immediately.
I had to see how this new phenomenon worked, and if it was for real. Could it be true that I no longer had to summon courage to approach a woman in a bar?
Was it possible that I no longer had to depend on friends or family members to set me up on dates with their friends?
Could I really look at several, if not dozens of different profiles with pictures of different women, and choose the ones that I am most attracted to, lived close by, and had the most in common with before contacting them?
Today, 2018, there are dozens of dating sites. I have not counted them all, but I would guess the number approaches several hundred different sites.
Many of these dating sites are short lived, as the competition for members has steadily increased over the last 10 years of so, and continues to increase as we speak.
There is attrition of the pay sites, and also of the free ones, as many people will let their memberships lapse once they are in a steady relationship.
The good news for many of these sites however is that a lot of people belong to more than one, and some belong to many sites.
There are still a few general dating sites, but most dating sites now are ‘niche’ dating sites. The different dating sites include free sites, pay sites, Christian sites, Jewish sites, adult sites, gay sites, senior sites, ethnic sites, activities sites, sugar daddy/sugar momma sites, hookup sites, speed dating sites, and many more.
Almost any group or desire is covered in the online dating site world. Some sites are free. Some are free for certain periods like 7 days, and then require that you become a paid member to continue.
Others allow you to stay a member for free but they limit your access, and your ability to communicate with other members.
Most sites will allow you to begin for free, and at least let you look around, and see what the site is about, what the members look like, how much choice and variety there is, and what the site’s special features are.
Even the free sites have upgrades, and most sites provide much more value as an upgraded or paid member.
You can usually obtain a discount on the monthly membership rates by buying an extended membership. These extended memberships are normally for 3,6, and 12 months. The longer the extension you agree to, the lower the monthly rate.
My experience has been that you usually get what you pay for. With the free sites, you have to sift through a lot of sand to get to the gold.
The members of the free sites, generally speaking, are not as sincere as the members of the paid sites. By sincere I mean that they are looking for a more serious, long term relationship.
The member profiles on the paid sites are also more thorough, and well written than the free sites. The member’s pictures are also better, as there is a feeling of putting your best foot forward there.
The free sites tend to attract everyone, so you find more people that are less successful, and many have different views, and objectives on life than those on the pay sites. This of course is a generalization, but it has been my experience.
Much of this ‘advice’ is applicable to both men and women, but since I am a guy, it is from a guy’s perspective.
The most important consideration in filling out your dating profile is to be sincere, and honest. You can’t be all things to all people, and remember, you are trying to find someone that you connect with.
For example, if you are a smoker, you probably won’t get along well with a non-smoker. I won’t date smokers, but I’m sure there are a lot of smokers that wouldn’t date the likes of me because I don’t smoke. And, so be it.
If you are 5 feet 8 inches tall, don’t put in your profile that you are 6 feet tall. If you are considerably overweight, don’t put that you are of average build, or even a few extra pounds overweight.
The truth will come out when you meet someone, and if you have misrepresented yourself, you will disappoint the person you are meeting.
They may also think that if you lie about your height or weight that you may also lie about other things. Your odds of getting a second date go way down.
You don’t have to write a novel about yourself, and your likes and dislikes. In fact, I highly recommend that you don’t get too wordy. Just hit the main points, and you can add a little extra.
After all, you want to discover some things about your date when you meet, and have more to talk about.
When I see a profile that goes on and on, it makes me think that this person is self absorbed, and may have a tendency to want to talk your ear off. People are busy, and they don’t want to spend an hour or two reading someone’s profile. At least I don’t.
Try to use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Now, I realize that not everyone is proficient in this area. Misspelling the occasional word is ok.
Not having perfect grammar, and punctuation is also ok. But, if it is obvious that you slept your way through school, or that you are dumb as a box of rocks, you will also likely struggle to attract prospective mates.
There are spelling checks, and grammar checks online that you can use, if need be. The site grammarly.com is a very good one for this purpose.
If you struggle in this area, it might be a good idea to run your writing through these before you hit the submit button on the dating site.
Try to refrain from using vulgarity. It is also a good idea to keep from being too political, and keep from denegrading certain ethnic groups, and countries.
You may be 100% in the right, and justified in what you say, but also remember that many people could disagree, or take your comments in the wrong light, and that could shrink your pool of possible prospects.
I’m not saying that if it’s important to you that you should not include it. Just saying that you should consider how your remarks will be taken.
Another statement that I come across quite a bit from the ladies that have kids, is “my kids always come first”. This may be true, and I can respect that.
However, if you are looking for a relationship, and you immediately make a guy feel that he is going to be relatively unimportant to you, it will lessen the interest that you will generate.
I think most guys understand that your kids always come first, and you would be less of a mom if you didn’t feel that way. However, you would be better off saying something like, my time may be limited because I have younger kids, but I will try my best to make time for a man that I like.
Putting your picture on your profile is an absolute must. Profiles with pictures, even not so great pictures, get tons more responses than those profiles that don’t have a picture.
The types of pictures you put on your profile may be the single most important thing you include on your online dating profile.
Do not put pictures on your profile that are more than 2-3 years old. I have met a few ladies that looked so much older than their pictures, that I didn’t even recognize them when I met them.
Needless to say, I didn’t want to pursue a relationship with them. In this day and age with cell phone cameras, there is no excuse not to have a recent photo of yourself to post.
I also strongly suggest not to post pictures on dating sites that are too revealing. Unless you are posting to a hook up site, I would try to keep it clean, and civilized.
I have spoken to many women that say if they see a picture of a guy with his shirt off on his profile, they won’t communicate with them. There are exceptions, like if you are at a pool or on the beach, but generally speaking I would error on the conservative side.
The same thing goes for the females. Although it is enticing to look at, too much exposure only makes you look cheap, and desperate.
If you present yourself this way, you will also attract a lower class individual. I like to leave something to the imagination, at least when long term relationships are being considered.
I am more interested in a woman that keeps things respectable, at least until we get to know each other. Don’t get me wrong. I am not the morality police. You can do what you want, of course, but just remember that your actions have consequences.
It is also a good idea from a guy’s perspective, for a woman to have only herself in her main picture. If you want to include your kids, and others in your secondary pictures, I think that is fine.
If your main picture is of you holding a baby, I can tell you that most guys will be turned off, and it will dramatically lower your incoming messages.
We know that you love your children, and family, but remember this is a dating site. We want to learn about, and look at you. We are not concerned about your family and friends right off the bat.
We may like to know how many kids you have, their ages, and whether or not they live with you, but I would low key the pictures of them, at least initially.
If you are not sure if which pictures you should post on your dating site, I suggest you show your pictures to a friend of the opposite sex.
Obviously, you want your best picture to be your main picture. Picking the right one can make all the difference.
Dating sites always show your main picture on the search results. I have seen main pictures that were not good, and secondary pictures that were good.
Let’s be honest, most people want at least some attraction. If you main picture is not your best picture, you could easily lose prospects.
On the how to dating online sites today, there is often competition. So many people are using online dating that in order to be successful, you have do things correctly. This can mean that you have to stand out.
Assuming that you have a good, readable profile with good, recent pictures, it is time to search for your possible dates.
Most sites will allow you to input the exact criteria of the type of person you are looking for in the search page. If you get too specific in your search, you will decrease the results.
Determine what you must have in a potential mate, and leave neutral those attributes that you can live without. Once you have found a few good matches, it’s time to start communicating.
The first email that you send is very important. The feedback that I have from the gals is they want guys to write more than a few words.
They want to know that you read their profile, and that there is something in there that has piqued your interest. You don’t have to write much, but what works for me is to be polite, respectful, and to always ask a question about something in the profile.
For instance, if they say they like to play golf, you can ask if they played golf in high school. Or, if they say they like seafood, you can ask what their favorite seafood restaurant is. It is a good idea to not get too personal right away, and don’t ask things like, where in town do you live?
Whatever you do, don’t comment on, or ask anything that could be construed as sexual. This may sound obvious, but I have been told that many guys get very personal right away, and it is a big red flag, and a turn off.
The point is, don’t come off like a creep or a pervert. This will get you nowhere. Just be nice, act interested, and be patient.
If you come from just trying to make a friend, you will have a better chance of getting a positive, return message.
For the ladies, I think it is ok for you to contact a man on a dating site that you are interested in. It is very flattering for a man to receive a message from an attractive lady.
Normally, you will need to message back and forth at least a few times before you will be able to ask for a meeting. The usual progression is, 3 to 4 emails, then ask for a phone number.
Once you have the phone number, talk on the phone a few times. Then, once you sense that you have a rapport going on, ask for a meeting/date
Some gals don’t need to talk on the phone first, but most do. Being patient is key here.
The first date or meeting, I think should be a short one. I have learned over the years that seeing someone in person can be very different from what you expect.
It is better to meet for a drink or a cup of coffee, than to plan on meeting for dinner, and making a night of it. I call this the meet and greet.
You can usually tell fairly quickly, sometimes immediately, if this person is someone that you would like to continue seeing. By arranging for a short first meeting, you can often save each other time and money.
If you do hit it off, and are attracted to your new friend, you can set up a dinner date, or some other longer meet up. I also like to make the first date a walk in a park, or a walk on a high school track.
It is easy to converse, and you can get a little exercise at the same time. If you hit it off, you can set something up for another time.
If not, nothing lost, and you may have gained a new friend. Your only loss will be your time at worst.
This strategy in how to dating online will also protect you from what I call the serial dinner daters. These are women that agree to meet for dinner with whomever is willing to take them, and pay for them.
They are often not looking for a relationship, they just like to go out to eat, and they really like that they don’t have to pay.
This brings up another aspect of online dating, and just dating in general. Should the man pay? Should both pay?
Interestingly, this social more was established years ago when the vast majority of women didn’t work and earn money. The man predominantly earned money, so it was required of him to pay whenever he dated a woman.
Today, things are very different. Many women earn more money than men. Sometimes they earn a lot more. My experience though is that many women, despite the fact that they earn as much or more than a man, still expect the man to pay.
My feeling is that all else being equal, this expense should be shared equally. After all, if you expect the same rights and priveledges, you should then also accept the same responsibilities.
I normally end up paying, but I like for my date to at least offer to help to pay once in a while. If they don’t, it will be noted as a negative, and may be cause to stop seeing that person.
At this point I could give advice on how to proceed with the relationship or not proceed. Each person is different. Each situation is different. People have different objectives.
One thing I can say with certainty though is that it is important to be polite, and considerate. If you set something up and you can’t make it, let that person know as soon as possible.
Be nice. The old saying, you will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar really holds true in the dating/relationship world.
If you are friendly, patient, and act like a gentleman ( you know, not a creep ), you will have a much better chance of your new friend sticking around, and it may not be long before your new relationship will escalate.
So, put the cell phone in your pocket, and if you are in a bar, don’t watch the game on tv. Pay attention to your date. I had to learn this the hard way. lol It is also a good idea not to drink too much, at least not for the first few meetings.
I know that first dates can be nerve racking, and I think having an alcoholic drink or two is ok, but I wouldn’t go beyond that. You don’t want your date to think you have a drinking problem, and you don’t want to come on too strong right away, which alcohol can sometimes encourage.
Remember also that many people on these dating sites know each other. If you gain a reputation as a bad egg, it won’t be long before much of the online dating community will find out about it. If that happens, your dating goose could be cooked.
Online dating has been called, ‘the singles bar of the new millenia’.
There are many online dating sites today. There are free sites, and pay sites. You normally get what you pay for. There is every kind of site for almost every person, group, or interest.
Match, Plenty of Fish, and Christian Mingle are the 3 most popular online dating sites as of 2018.
When filling out your dating profile remember to be honest and sincere. Use good grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Don’t be rude or vulgar. Be sure to include a picture in your profile. Upload recent pictures, ideally not more than a year or two old.
Keep it classy. It is easy to take a picture today because most cell phones have cameras. So if you don’t have a recent pic of yourself, take a selfie already.
Ask a friend of the opposite sex to help you pick out your pictures to maximize your opportunities.
When searching for a potential date/mate don’t be too broad, or too specific. Your emails should show that you read the person’s profile, and look for common interests that you can ask or comment about. Try to write more than a few words.
Be respectful, and patient, but show your interest by attempting to communicate by phone, and then in person. Keep the first date/meeting short.

Wondering about best hair loss solutions was not on my radar 15-20 years ago. With me it started with noticing that there was more hair in my hair brush than before.
I then began to notice that my shower drain was not draining properly. When I reached down to check it, I grabbed a pile of hair. Could this be possible? Is this my hair in the drain? Since I lived alone, it must be mine.
If I am finding hair in the drain, and more hair on my brush, I must be losing hair from my head. I began to examine my hair.
It didn’t look noticeibly different at first, but I kept finding more and more hair in my brush and more in my shower drain.
Before long I could tell by running my fingers through my hair that it was not as thick as before. I still looked fine, maybe this hair loss will stop somehow, I thought.
Then I remembered that my paternal grandfather was bald. My father was bald. My cousin was bald at 16. My older brother’s hair was getting thinner every time I saw him.
Does this mean it is genetic? Is there nothing I can do to stop this process, I wondered? I don’t want to go bald. How will the ladies treat me?
Will it affect my business opportunities? Will I have to start wearing a hat everywhere I go? Will I be the butt of my buddies’ jokes? Will it make me look a lot older?
After all, I was only in my early 40’s. I really don’t want to have to buy, and wear a toupee. Nothing looks worse than a guy in an obvious toupee. Obvious to everyone but the guy wearing it.
It is almost comical. And what about the guy with the hair plugs? Have you ever seen bad hair plugs? That guy would be better off with a toupee, or going fully bald.
So, being the vain individual that I can be, I set out on an endeavor to learn all that I could about hair loss, and hair loss solutions, so I could keep this semi-traumatic happenstance from happening to me, or at least I believed if it did happen to me, I could minimize the damage.
Now it’s true that there are many worse things that can happen to a person besides losing their hair. But surely there had to be a solution.
After all you don’t see many bald Japanese men, or bald men of other nationalities. What are they doing, that I’m not doing? Or what are they not doing, that I am doing?
Could I incorporate some things in their habits that might help fend off my own hair loss?
I don’t want my self confidence to suffer, and if I can look a few years younger, well then it is well worth finding solutions.
My Naturopathic health education background taught me that if you want to find a permanent solution to a problem, you must first determine the root cause. Pun intended.
Addressing and treating the symptoms of an issue may provide a temporary solution, but it may make the underlying problem or cause worse, and at best the problem will reappear with similar intensity in the not too distant future.
Hairs have a 3 year life cycle. It is normal to lose about 100 hairs per day.
Androgenic Alopecia Hair Loss (Male or Female Pattern Baldness)
There are several causes of Androgenic Alopecia hair loss, but the primary cause is hormone imbalance in both men and women. The conversion of testosterone, a male hormone, into dihydrotestosterone or DHT.
DHT is made by an enzyme called 5 – alpha reductase. It can also be made from DHEA, dehydroepiandrosterone, a hormone more commonly found in females.
This is the process that not only contributes to hair loss on the head, but also forces more hair to grow out of your nose, and your ears.
Hair loss does not happen as often with women as with men due to the amount of estrogen that women normally produce.
Although women do account for about 40% of hair loss cases. This estrogen counteracts the effects of the DHT, and DHEA.
Another major cause of thinning hair and hair loss is stress. Stress can stem from work, family issues, dealing with illness, or any number of other triggers that are either perceived or actual. Stress tells the body, the adrenal glands in particular to release cortisol.
Extended periods of stress can overwork the adrenals causing adrenal fatigue. This can lead to a lower production of hormones like cortisol, as well as testosterone. Hair loss can be the result, at least partly, of this hormone imbalance.
Being nutritionally deprived can also be a cause of hair loss. When there are issues with the body such as with pancreatitis where the pancreas stops producing enzymes for the digestion and assimilation of food. less nutrition gets to the cells.
The hair is considered by the body, in it’s wisdom, as a low priority for the limited nutrition available. Thus, what nutrition is left goes to other more critical organs, glands, and tissues of the body, and because of this neglect, hair dies, and falls out.
Parasites such as threadworm, and hookworm can also be a cause of hair loss. These bugs get into the gut from contaminated food or water, and live off of digested food which depletes the body of needed nutrients that would feed cells of the hair and it’s support system.
Sleep deprivation or lack of sleep can be a contributing factor in hair loss. We need to sleep 5 straight hours without interruption in order to allow the adrenals to generate the proper amounts of adrenaline to sustain our energy throughout the day.
7 to 8 hours of sleep per night is recommended for optimum health. Low adrenaline can create stress.
Vitamin/Mineral deficiencies such as zinc, vitamin C, and some B vitamins can contribute to hair loss.
Chemicals, dyes, and drugs in so called hair care products like shampoos, hair sprays, gels, and treatments can clog hair follicles, and block absorption of nutrients, and prevent the ability to excrete wastes, which can cause the hair shaft to die.
Other causes of hair loss may include, shock or trauma, child birth, surgery, serious illness or disease, grief or other traumatic life event, or significant sudden weight loss.
Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disorder where the hair follicles are attacked by the body. This condition is primarily blamed on stress.
The best hair loss solutions are natural supplements and foods that work with your body.
Avena Sativa or Oat Grass This remarkable all natural solution stops the transition of testosterone into dihydrotestorone or DHT by blocking 5 alpha reductase, the main cause of hair loss and hair thinning.
Saw Palmetto This popular plant works the same way as Avena Sativa by blocking 5 alpha reductase.
B VitaminsB’s are made in the small intestine, and help alleviate stress by supporting the adrenal glands. B’s also help reverse hair loss and increase hair strength.
Fermented Foods These nutritious fermented foods provide good bacteria to the small intestine which makes B vitamins.
HCL or Hydrochloric Acid HCL helps to kill pathogens in our food, and helps in digestion, and assimmilation of food to the cells.
As we age HCL levels in our stomachs decrease to critical levels starting at about age 40 due mostly to our diet of meats, and other cooked foods.
Supplementing with Betaine Hydrochloride with a Potassium Activator can bring these levels up to a healthier, more effective range.
Digestive EnzymesThese enzymes are made in the pancreas, and help in the digestion of fats, sugars, carbohydrates, proteins, fiber, and dairy.
Our stores of these critical enzymes deplete due to our diet of cooked foods. Enzymes catalyze the digestion of foods, and without them the digestive process is greatly inhibited.
Natural Sleep Aids such as Melatonin, Valerian Root, Chamomile Tea, Passion Flower, and others help us achieve the needed sleep for proper adrenaline production, and stress control.
We need to sleep 5 consecutive, uninterrupted hours per night for the adrenal glands to produce the adrenaline to help us through the day, and to help alleviate stress.
Other Hair Loss Solutions
Though I am not an advocate of drugs, I believe that they have their place, and use. Drugs are irreplaceable in trauma care, and in acute care. Chronic care, however, is another situation entirely. I am an advocate of doing no harm.
Drugs often have side effects, and sometimes serious side effects. In addtion, the continued use of some drugs can have a cumulative negative effect on the body, and cause problems which will manifest at a later date.
That said, there are two hair loss solutions that fall into the drug category that are have been shown to be effective in arresting hair loss in some people.
Propecia (Finasteride) FDA approved drug for men with androgenic hair loss. A 5-alpha reductase inhibitor.
Rogaine (Minoxidil) Topical, over-the-counter medication (no prescription needed) that both men and women can use. May also even grow hair in some people.

So that we can learn how to prevent a heart attack, we must first learn what exactly a heart attack is. A heart attack is a medical emergency that normally occurs when blood flow to the heart suddenly becomes blocked or significantly reduced. Without this blood flow, the heart tissue loses oxygen, and can die.
Although not usual, a heart attack can also be caused by a spasm of the coronary artery. This coronary spasm restricts and reduces blood flow to the heart muscle.
Medical terms for a heart attack are myocardial infarction or MI, acute myocardial infarction, coronary thrombosis, or coronary occlusion.
Heart Attack Symptoms
Heart attack symptoms can include a pain in the chest, arms, neck, or back, shortness of breath, cold sweats, anxiety, lightheadedness, fatigue, and/or abnormal heart beat or rythym. It is also possible to have no symptoms.
A silent heart attack is a fairly common occurence, as well. It is possible for a person to have a heart attack, and not know it. This is called silent ischemia. Ischemia is defined as lack of oxygen.
It is estimated that a heart attack occurs every 40 seconds in the U.S.
What Causes a Heart Attack
Perhaps the most common cause of a heart attack is a plague buildup in the arteries, also known as artherosclerosis. Blood clots, or a torn blood vessel can also be a cause of heart attacks.
Risk Factors Within these causes are risk factors that can generate the conditions surrounding the occurence of a heart attack. Some of the more common risk factors are:
Sex: Men have more heart attacks than women, but that is not to say that women are not at risk, they are.
Age: Your heart attack risk is greater if you are over the age of 65.
Race: People of African descent have a higher risk factor for heart attack than other races. This is not to say that other races are not at risk. They are.
Family History/Genetics: A family history of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, or high blood pressure puts one more at risk. However, this doesn’t mean that it has a genetic cause necessarily.
Many family habits, lifestyle, and traits can be passed down from generation to generation. The Human Genome project determined that less than 1/2 of 1 percent of all diseases have a genetic cause at it’s core.
Stress: Stress can be caused by many things such as job, family, health, finances, and diet, and is often another major factor in heart attack/disease.
Lack of Exercise: Light to Moderate exercise seems to help fend off heart issues for many people. Little or no exercise can have the opposite effect.
Obesity/Diet: Being overweight, and having a poor diet can make heart issues much more likely.
Smoking: Cigarette smoking is one of the least healthy habits you can force on your body. It can contribute to heart disease and many other health issues.
Drinking Alcohol: Drinking alcohol to excess is a big risk factor for heart attack. However, it has been shown that light drinking of alcohol, 1 or 2 drinks per day, may lower stress levels, and may actually be factor in preventing heart attacks.
High Blood Pressure: Especially when combined with other risk factors, high blood pressure can be a significant factor in heart attack risk.
It is difficult to diagnose a heart attack before it happens, but it is very possible to diagnose if someone is a likely candidate for a heart attack. It is, of course also possible to have a heart attack without knowing it.
A doctor will look at medical history of a given patient, do a physical examination, and take blood and other tests, such as a stress test on a treadmill where heart rate, blood pressure, and heart rythym are monitored to determine if there is any clear evidence of damage to the heart.
To further define the evidence of heart disease, a doctor may perform a cardiac catherization where he can view areas that may have blockages.
He may also inject dye into the arteries to attempt to locate any blockages or plague buildup that can be seen with an xray.
Now that we know the causes, risk factors, and what a doctor looks for to diagnose heart disease, and how dangerous it can be, we need to focus and concentrate on how to prevent a heart attack.
If you have never had a heart attack, had one heart attack, or multiple heart attacks, this information will help you to decrease your chances of having a heart attack in the future. Of course, ultimately it is up to you to take the information and put it into action.
Prevention of heart attacks, heart disease, and many other health problems is very much within our control. We make decisions every day that will have a profound impact on whether we live long, healthy, fulfilling lives, or whether our existence is mired with sickness, disease, and resulting unhappiness.
It is not just what we do, but also what we don’t do that determines our futures.
What not to do.
Drinking alcohol to excess is also directly linked to heart attacks, and many other health issues. However, if you can limit your drinking to 1 or 2 drinks per day max, you may contribute to heart attack prevention. Within the alcohol realm, red wine seems to have the most health benefits. And within red wine, organic, dry farm wines, appear to be the optimum to drink.
Taking drugs, both legal, and illegal can be dangerous to your heart health. Especially drugs like cocaine, meth amphetamine, and other ‘uppers’ can cause the heart rate to race, and create arrythmias, and other irregularities.
Even taking barbiturates or ‘downers’ can cause heart problems when combined with exercise, and other drugs or alcohol. My best advice is to only take prescription drugs when absolutely needed. Illegal drugs, of course, should always be avoided.
Eating processed foods, especially foods that contain high levels of saturated fats found in many meats, and other dishes should be shunned. It is also a good idea to stay away from fried foods, fat laden cheeses, sauces, and the like. If you do eat meat, eat leaner cuts of grass fed meat with no hormones or anti biotics added, and limit your portion sizes. Avoid table salt. This super heated salt is stripped of all vitamins and minerals, and can increase blood pressure.
Don’t be a couch potato! Laying around the house, whether it is in front of the tv, the computer, cooking fatty foods on the deck, or hanging out in the man cave should not be a too common occurence. Although enjoying yourself is fine, it can also be taken to excess. People that don’t exercise, and seldom take in any fresh air or Vitamin D from the sun are at much higher risk for heart attack.
Don’t let the world get you down. It is easy to be negatively affected by the world around us, whether that is your spouse, family, job, the state of the country, depressing news, finances, or any other reason. Not maintaing an even keel, and a sense of Joie de Vivre or joy of life can lead to high stress levels, and even the dreaded heart disease.
Don’t work too hard. Many people have stressful occupations, and work long hours. Their entire lives revolve around their work, and they leave little time for anything else. It’s not difficult to figure out that over time, this all work and no play scenario can be a recipe for disaster. It is commendable to want to do a great job, and be successful, but don’t do it to the detriment of your health.
There are many things that can be done to prevent heart disease, and heart attacks. Remember that most of it is within your control.
Sleep a minimum of 7 hours each night. It is also very important to have at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night. This will help with stress, adrenaline production, and immune system regeneration.
Eat a heart healthy diet. There are many foods you can eat that can help you have a healthy heart. The main rule of thumb is to eliminate the garbage.
By garbage I mean the processed, refined, fried, chemical laden foods. You should eat whole, organic, fresh, raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, non farm raised fish, fermented foods, and whole grains to the extent possible.
If you eat meat, eat lean, grass fed meat that does not contain added hormones, or anti biotics. Limiting your consumption of
meat is an important component of a healthy diet.
When eating cooked food, steamed, and baked is much preferable to fried.
Eat Heart Healthy Foods
Non Farm Raised Salmon. Wild salmon can be called Sockeye Salmon, North Atlantic Salmon, Alaskan Salmon, and some others. If in doubt, ask at the supermarket, or the waiter to be sure the salmon is not farm raised.
Even much sushi and sashimi today is made from farm raised salmon. Wild Salmon is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, and the mineral selenium. Raw or baked are best methods to prepare and enjoy wild salmon.
Walnuts These super healthy nuts are high in Omega 3 fatty acids, folate, a B vitamin, fiber, and natural Vitamin E(d alpha tocopherol) Almonds are also high in Omega 3’s, and are heart healthy.
Blueberries These anti-oxidant fruit powerhouses are high in resveratrol, and flavonoids, both very heart healthy.
Fermented Foodsmake B vitamins, different types of probiotics, as well as the heralded Omega-3 fatty acids. B vitamins are particularly effective in alleviating, and combating stress, and fermented foods provide a highly bio available form of these nutrients that the body can easily absorb, and utilize.
B vitaminsalso reduce levels of the amino acid homocysteine in the blood. High levels of homocysteine have been linked to heart disease due to causing inflammation of the arteries.
Some common fermented foods are: sauerkraut, yogurt, tempeh, miso, natto, kefir, pickles, and apple cider vinegar.
Dark Chocolate Indulging in dark chocolate is heart healthy because it’s flavonols help lower blood pressure by relaxing arteries.
Make sure it is organic dark chocolate that doesn’t contain refined sugar, or other processed additives such as high saturated fat oils.
CauliflowerHigh in anti-oxidants, fiber, and allicin. Allicin is found more commonly in garlic, and has been shown to lower cholesterol, and decrease the chance for heart attacks.
Sweet Potatoes or Yams Helps to reduce high blood pressure do to it’s high content of potassium, Vitamin C, calcium, and iron.
Beets Another high potassium super star, beets help lower blood pressure, and are a good source of betaine, and folate which can lower your levels of homosysteine. Homosysteine can damage your arteries by causing inflammation.
Beans The high soluble fiber content in beans, along with heart healthy flavonoids, help reduce cholesterol, and reduce platelet adhesion in the blood, which can reduce risk of strokes, and heart attacks. Pinto beans, and black beans are among many that provide these benefits.
Natto This fermented soy bean dish from Japan is one of the heart healthiest foods you can eat. It has been used in Japan for over 1000 years as a remedy for heart and vascular diseases.
Natto can break down plague, and can dissolve blod clots. Other heart healthy fermented soy foods are Miso, and Tempeh.
There are many other heart healthy foods. Emphasizing a plant based diet to the extent possible will greatly enhance your chances of fending off heart disease.
Healthy Heart Supplements
It is true that with all of the genetically modified produce, over farming, and chemical additives in the soil and on the crops that even normally healthy plant based foods are often greatly compromised, and devoid of nutrient content.
Even eating organic, raw, and plant based may not be enough due to our aging body’s lower levels of hydrochloric acid, and enzymes needed to digest our food, and send nutrients to the cells.
A bad diet can also compromise the cell’s ability to absorb nutrients, and expel wastes, which can lead to more health issues.
Luckily, there are many highly bio available, and easily absorbable supplements, and nutrients available that provide the critically needed nutrition for a healthy heart, and healthy cardiavascular system that are lacking from our diet.
It is vital to use a ‘live source’ supplement, or you are simply throwing your money away.
B Vitamins: B’s help with cell metabolism, and energy, fight free radicals, boost HDL (good cholesterol), and lower homocysteine levels. Additional B vitamin benefits include helping to detox the liver.
COQ10 or COQuinol: COQ10 is a big player in heart cellular energy. COQ10 deficiency is associated with heart failure.
HCL (Hydrochloric Acid) loss of HCL is associated with heart artery blockage. As we age the HCL levels in our stomachs decrease, and unless we supplement we can’t fully digest our food, and, as a result send our cells it’s needed nutrition. Good digestion also keeps homocysteine levels low.
Good Oils (Essential Fatty Acids) supports cardiovascular system, and will increase HCL (Hydrochloric Acid).
Good Salt helps control blood pressure, and increases HDL (Hydrochloric Acid). Sun dried sea salt, and some pink salts are ideal.
Acetyl L Carnitine this super anti-oxidant has been shown to help with angina by relieving chest pain, shrinking dead tissue, and improving blood flow. Also an effective brain nutrient.
Magnesium this important mineral helps control high blood pressure, and irregular heart beat/heart rythym.
D-Ribose supports ATP production which aids the hearts energy, diastolic function, and muscle contraction. Helps in treating angina, arrythmia, heart failure, statin caused myalgia, and peripheral vascular disease.
Grape Seed Extract helps prevent blood vessels from damage, useful in treating high blood pressure or hypertension, and helps lower LDL ( Low Density Lipoprotein) or bad cholesterol levels.
Find Your Happy Place
An important aspect of how to prevent a heart attack, and just as important as eating a healthy diet, is to find enjoyment, contentment, and peace in life.
What works for me is a long walk in the woods, 1 to 3 times per week. I am able to get some exercise, fresh air, and I can commune with nature all at the same time.
Something about being out among the squirrels, and the deer provides a relaxing, peaceful experience that allows me to forget the hassles, and stresses of work, and life in general, and rejuvenates my mind, body, and spirit.
Your happy place may be a beach, or a park, or perhaps a stream, or a river, or maybe just sitting on your patio or deck off the back of your home.
Whatever it is, and whereever it is, take some time to find a place where you can relax, destress, and unwind. And go there often. Your heart will thank you for it.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to perform long, intense periods of exercise in order to receive an aerobic benefit.
In fact, exercise of long duration, and high intensity may even create more health issues than it solves, especially if you are in the over 40 age group.
It is now known that just walking 2 or 3 times a week for 20-30 minutes at a time can provide a significant heart, and overall health benefit, and may be more beneficial than many other types of exercise.
People that walk regularly have less incidence of osteoporosis, depression, anxiety, stress, stroke, and heart disease than those that don’t exercise.
Activities such as yoga, and meditation also have positive effect on heart health.
Being socially isolated or lonely can increase a person’s risk for heart disease and strokes according to many recent studies.
It was also discovered that those that maintained their social interactions have a much longer life expectancy than those that do not.
Get in Touch with Your Spiritual Side
Many longevity studies have shown that those that attend services, or are involved with religious, and spiritual organizations or communities are less likely to develop heart disease, and their life expectancies are an average of 10 -12 years longer than those that shun spirituality.
Do What You Love for a Living
The old saying goes, if you do what you love for a living, you will never work a day in your life. This is also considered the ‘secret of success’.
Since we spend a great deal of time at work, or at least most of us do, it just makes sense that we should find an occupation that we love. This bit of advice is more appropo for those not yet retired, but it affects the majority of us.
It is common sense that if we enjoy our work, we will be less stressed, feel more satisfied, and probably achieve more in the process.
Put it into Practice
Knowing how to prevent a heart attack is one thing. The other is to actually put how to prevent a heart attack into practice. If you are the type of person that doesn’t like to make abrupt changes in your lifestyle, try a gradual approach.
Make a few positive changes per week, and add a few more as you go. You may find that once you feel better, you will become addicted to a healthier pattern of behavior, and look forward to becoming healthier every day.
You owe it to yourself, and your family to take care of yourself. Start today to be good to yourself. Your heart will thank you for it.

There are American wine societies, UK wine societies, and French wine societies, just to name a few. A wine society’s primary purpose is to educate interested members in all aspects of wine.
This could include attending conferences, participating in wine tastings, achieving certifications, and taking online classes to learn about the history, traditions, geography, and culture involved in making, and drinking wine.
Perhaps the most important aspect of joining a wine society is to make new friends.
Is a wine society the same as a wine club? Wine clubs can have many of the same features, and aspects of a wine society, but often times wine clubs are set up primarily to be a source or a provider of wines for it’s members.
These clubs allow their members to get lower prices on wine, and allow them to taste different wines from different countries, and regions that they likely wouldn’t have access to on their own.
Usually these clubs are set up to send you wines on a monthly basis, but there are also some who send on a quarterly basis for those more cost conscious, and/or who prefer to drink wine less often.
There are different wine clubs to suit many different needs and desires of it’s members. Some wine clubs focus on only certain priced wines, or below a certain price.
Others provide wines from certain regions or countries of the world. Still others emphasize only red wines, or white wines, or even dry wines.
There are even wine clubs that concentrate on specific grapes, such as Cabernet Sauvignons, or Pinots.
Perhaps the largest growth area of wine clubs is in the organic wine market or segment.
Organic, or natural wines currently encompass the sector of wines that is enjoying the strongest growth of popularity.
As more and more people are asserting their need to be more health aware in both what they eat, as well as what they drink, organic wines are gaining more and more enthusiasts, and market share.
Organic wines are defined as two different types of organic descriptions on wine bottles. Wines can be made from certified organically grown grapes, containing no synthetic(man made) additives or pesticides.
Also organic wines can be defined as made from grapes that are organically grown, and not containing any additional sulfites, other than those sulfites that may be occurring naturally.
In the wine business’s attempt to produce wine in larger quantities, faster, cheaper, and with more consistency, the wine industry has adulterated it’s product to the extent to where it is a chemical laden concoction that may do more harm to it’s drinkers than good.
Additives are used to add coloring, make sweeter, change or improve flavor, change or bring more color, and a great deal more.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given it’s ok for 76 different additives for use in making wine.
If you are drinking non organic wines, here are some of the approved additives in your wine:
Milk products (pasteurized whole, skim, or half-and-half)
Oak chips or particles
Albumen (egg white)
Grape juice concentrates
and many more!
Components of World’s Healthiest Wines
So, let’s take this a big step further from just organic wines to super healthy wines.
Did you know it is possible to drink wine and not suffer a hangover, or headaches the next day?
It does sound too good to be true, but it is true. When I first heard this claim I was very skeptical, but I had to find out if it was really possible.
Probably the biggest reason I cut way back on my wine, and other alcohol consumption is the hangover. Even days off of work can be miserable if you have a headache, and have to endure that tired, sluggish feeling all day.
Ok, not wanting to get a DUI is another big reason. I have often said, I wish somehow I could have a few or more glasses of wine without having to worry about being hungover the next day.
I love the taste of wine, and way it makes me feel, but I always pay for it in the morning after. I have been into organic food, and living a healthy lifestyle for over 20 years.
I occasionally drank organic wine, and felt good about putting something healthy into my body, but I was still suffering from the dreaded hangovers.
It turns out, that there are ways of growing, and bottling wine that if done properly can greatly enhance the taste, experience, and prevent hangovers.
The components needed to achieve this wonderful result are:
Dry farmed vineyards get their water from the rain, not from irrigation. In so doing, deeper roots are created that interact with more microorganisms in the soil.
They extract, and absorb more nutrients. They bring about healthier vines and, as a result, create richer, more complex wines.
Bio Dynamic or Organic Farming
Healthy soil is the genesis of healthy wine.Biodynamic, and organic farming allow for, and bring about a healthy soil.
Therefore, healthy vines require a vibrant soil full of beneficial microorganisms, and nutrient dense.
Unfortunately, in the last 50 years, the amount of pesticides sprayed on vines has grown 26 times.
Grapes now have the dubious distinction of having some of the highest readings of synthetic pesticides of any farm crop.
Fortunately, organic and biodynamic farmers support the natural nutrient life in their farms, as well as the life in the soil itself. They use natural fertilizers like compost, compost teas, green manure, and cover crops.
They never use synthetic fertilizers. They use mechanical weeding instead of herbicides. They have livestock and grazing chickens to replace toxic insecticides.
Organic farms produce fruit as nature intended. These are the grapes you want for your wines.
As you probably already know, sugar, especially refined sugar is highly detrimental to your health.
In fact, refined sugar is one of the least healthy substances on earth to put into your body.
Most U.S. wines are high in sugars. Some of this sugar content can be from added sugar. The other sugars are left behind from a shortened fermentation process.
Natural/organic wines allow all of the naturally occurring sugars to convert to alcohol when the wine ferments fully.
When no sugar is added and all the residual sugar is allowed to ferment, you have a sugar free wine.
Wine is not rocket science. It is simply fermented grapes. That’s all. Grapes that are grown from an organic, natural healthy vineyard already consist of all they require to become wine.
But the process for today’s wine making is much more complex. There’s a lot of disruption, and corruption during the wine making growth stages.
The American FDA has given the green light to 76 additives for use in making wines. 38 of those 76 additives are considered GRAS, or Generally Regarded As Safe.
This begs the question, why were the other 38 additives that did not make the GRAS list approved, and allowed to be added to wines?
Additives can be used to change flavors, add coloring, increase sweetness, and a great deal more.
It is no secret. Alcohol is toxic. Alcohol, like sugar, and red meat all feed cancer. It doesn’t necessarily cause cancer, yet it can certainly make it worse.
The more we can limit our intake of alcohol, the healthier we will be.
It’s well known and proven that excessive amounts of alcohol negatively affect your bodily functions and brain development.
And don’t we all know how rough those hangovers and headaches feel after a night of too many alcoholic drinks!
This is why it’s so important to begin with less alcohol. Lower alcohol wines permit you to enjoy all the benefits and good taste of wine throughout the entire evening without being exposed to the negative aspects.
The only requirement to be on a bottle of wine is the alcohol content. And even the alcohol content doesn’t need to be exact. It can vary as much as 1.5% as what is on the bottle.
The only way to find out what all is in a wine is to have it lab tested. In addition to the alcohol content in a wine, a lab can test for all ingredients, including the 76 additives that the FDA approved.
But where in the world can you find a wine society or wine club that provides wine that meets all this stringent criteria?
I happened upon this wine club a few weeks ago. They call themselves the only health-focused organic wine club in the world. They also claim to be keto-friendly, low carb friendly, and paleo friendly.
So if you would like to experience the finest natural, organic wines that are lab tested for the highest standard of health, and that you can enjoy without the hangovers, and headaches.
Diet is the key to good health, and successful weight and fat loss. Herbs weight loss is attained with a few changes in diet.
If you do not adhere to a healthy, balanced, moderate diet, and some exercise, any adjunct therapy such as using herbs will have less effect.
I recommend a non gmo, organic, plant based diet, with organic whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes, with non farm raised fish, anti-biotic, and hormone free dairy, and anti-biotic, hormone free, grass fed meats eaten sparingly.
Raw food is almost always preferable over cooked food, especially fried food. Fermented food, and drink is also very healthy.
Sauerkraut is a good example of fermented food. Organic wine is an example of a good fermented drink.
Herbal Usage Theory
Herbal usage is often a a very basic healing art. It has been known for many centuries as the Art of Simpling. Because an individual herb could be used to treat a wide array of illnesses, herbs became known as simples.
The three principles of simpling are:
Use the herbs that grow close around you.
The use of mild herbs
These mild herbs must be used in large doses
There is a huge difference between herbs used as a beverage, and herbs used for medicinal purposes.
Large amounts of mild herbs must be utilized to effect results for medicinal reasons.
There are many herbs that aid in weight, and fat loss. Certain herbs work well by themselves, and there are also herbal formulas that have been assisting people that need to lose weight for thousands of years.
China, and India both have a long history of working with herbs, and developing herbal formulas for many different health purposes.
These formulas, concoctions, or tonics if you like, are useful for both preventing illness, and disease, as well as treating chronic health conditions. Herbs have, and are being used for even the most serious of maladies, such as cancer.
When properly used, herbs are the surest, and safest medicinal treatments available. Herbs can however, if used improperly cause imbalance in the body.
Herbs weight loss can be powerful, and very effective, so it is wise to stay within the constraints of the herbalists instructions.
There are various ways to utilize herbs such as tinctures, compresses, capsules, and teas. For our purposes with losing weight, capsules, and teas are appropriate.
Fat Burning Herbs
With these herbs weight loss can be achieved.
This health superstar has been used medicinally in Asia and other countries for thousands of years.
It’s main claim to fame is it’s ability to detoxify, and to aid in the digestive process.
Green tea is a beverage that has been enjoyed for thousands of years. It is common in China, and throughout Asia and the surrounding region.
Another nutritional powerhouse, it is thought that it’s high content of polyphenols is the catalyst behind it’s positive reputation.
Green tea has the ability to burn abdominal fat, and it is thought that it’s catechin content is the reason.
Green tea has become universally popular due to it’s healthy constituents, as well as it’s good taste. Be sure that you buy the real green tea, and not a lesser, unhealthy grade.
Burdock has been a popular cuisine addition in China and Asia for centuries.
It’s root has also been used in China and the rest of Asia medicinally for just as long.
In Europe, and the Americas, burdock has never been favored in cooking, but like the east, it’s medicinal properties have been known and utilized for many moons.
Like ginger, burdock root has the ability to decrease the appetite, while at the same time stimulate fat burning. It is also a diuretic which can help balance excess water weight gain.
The most common type of cinnamon, at least in the United States is Cassia cinnamon.
Not surprisingly, based on the way we process, and adulterate our foods, it is also the least nutritious.
The best cinnamon for nutritional benefit, and weight/fat loss is Ceylon cinnamon. Ceylon is a country, formerly known as Sri Lanka, where this wonderful herb or spice comes from.
Ceylon cinnamon can be recognized by it’s distinctive shape. It resembles a scroll or a newspaper that is rolled up. It works by controlling insulin levels, which lowers blood sugar levels, so that excess fat or adipose tissue does not build up.
Excessive abdominal fat can lead to or be an indicator of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and even cancer.
In addition to controlling insulin levels, Ceylon cinnamon also increases metabolism, and fat burning, as well as, suppresses hunger.
Chickweed is plant that originates in Europe, but has also been utilized in North America for centuries.
It is grown as a cooling herb for medicinal applications, as well as a vegetable for consumption as a food for both humans, as well as for poultry.
You may have seen this herb as an ingredient in medications, and supplements that are used for obesity, and weight control. It is ubiquitous (available everywhere), and is very popular in weight loss circles for it’s attributes for aiding the riddance of fat.
It can be consumed in foods as a steamed vegetable, or without cooking, in salads. It has fat burning capabilities, aids in digestion, and is an appetite suppressant. It is also a useful diuretic.
A word of caution. I recommend enlisting the services of a trained herbalist before attempting any herbal remedies or concoctions yourself. They can advise and direct you so that you don’t waste time, money, or although unlikely, cause you or others potential harm.
The goal of an herbal therapy is to restore, or bring about yin and yang, balance, or dynamic equilibrium in the whole person, not just the body.
This herbs weight loss formula is a blending of the best of proven Chinese and Western herbal uses that bring about balance in circulation, detoxification, and normalize elimination, in addition to assisting in the emulsification of adipose or fat tissue.
This herbs weight loss mixture brings about tonification and mild detoxification that is needed for effectively treating persistent overweight issues or conditions.
Ginger, cayenne, and mustard seed activate the metabolism; kelp regulates and balances thyroid metabolism; watercress contributes vital mineral and vitamin supplementation;
Cleavers, atractylodes, poria, and stephania assist in dissolving fat, and cure edema or water weight gain; rhubarb, and cascara bring about normal elimination; fennel, and licorice are considered harmonizers; and chaparral, and echinacea work together to detoxify
This powdered herb formula should be taken in two 00 capsules, 3 or 4 times a day. Exercise with stretching, and a long walk, once a day is also important to include.
Dandelion tea, 2 to 3 cups per day will help normalize low blood sugar conditions that are common in those with a poor eating habit history.
These herbs, and herbal formulas can greatly assist you in your weight, and fat loss efforts. If you live a healthy lifestyle with a balanced plant based diet, clean water, clean air, and consistent moderate exercise you will gain the most benefit from using the herbs listed above.

Chances are, if you have lived in this world for any length of time, you have encountered stress. How to destress can keep you healthy, and happy.
Chances are also good that you are already aware of some methods of how to destress in your life, and possibly even currently using some of these methods in your daily life.
What is stress? Stress has been defined as an emotional or mental state, or feeling of pressure or strain caused by negative, or very challenging circumstances, or perceived negative or challenging circumstances.
Stress is your body/mind’s way of reacting to any type of stressor, or anything that causes stress. Typical stressors are work/job, family obligations, social situations, driving in traffic, financial needs, or health issues.
Stress can cause high blood pressure, anxiety, weight gain/obesity, digestive issues, skin problems like eczema, hair loss, sleep loss, and if untreated for long periods, stress can lead to more serious chronic illnesses like heart disease, and even cancer.
Many people, in an effort to deal with or alleviate the stress they feel, turn to alcohol, and other drugs, including both over the counter, prescription, and illegal drugs such as marijuana ( legal in some states ), cocaine, methamphetamine, and/or heroin.
Alcohol in excess can deplete the body of needed B vitamins, as well as other vitamins, and minerals.
Turning to alcohol to combat stress is usually very counterproductive.
However, it has been shown that if you can limit your alcohol intake to 1 to 2 moderate drinks per day, it can have a beneficial destressing result, at least temporarily.
Stress has negative effects on the bodies organs, and systems. It depletes B vitamins, affects liver function, adrenal function, and pancreatic function.
B vitamins, which are made in the small intestine, and the adrenal glands are involved with energy. We make adrenaline when we sleep, and if we do not get 5 straight hours of uninterrupted sleep at night, we make less than 30% of the amount of adrenaline we need during the day to give us the energy we need to function adequately.
Experts agree that we need 7 to 8 total hours of sleep a night in order to allow our bodies to regenerate it’s stores for the immune system.
Drinking caffeinated coffee can flog the adrenals, put a load on the kidneys, deplete B vitamins, negatively affect sleep, create a carcinogenic atmosphere in the body, and, as a result, contribute to added feelings of stress.
Refined sugar is also a definite no no when it comes to helping stress. It is well documented that refined sugar is detrimental to your mood, and overall mental health. It is one of the worst so called foods to put in your body, causing a never ending list of health problems.
Some grains, such as wheat, barley, and rye can create mood problems, and can even cause severe depression, and other brain, and mental issues. It is thought that the gluten content in these grains is to blame.
Processed foods ( I hesitate to call them foods as they have removed all or virtually all of any nutrient value they originally contained ) are notorious for creating many health issues, not the least of which are moodiness, and irritability. A better defintion of processed foods, is dead foods.
Most processed foods, which come in a can, bottle, box, or bag will do you more harm than good in almost every case, and should not be eaten, if at all possible.
How to destress with foods
Tryptophan rich foods: Tryptophan is an amino acid that is found in many foods, most notably turkey.
Tryptophan is converted to serotonin in the body, and has a calming affect. Other foods rich in tryptophan include walnuts, free range eggs, and pumpkin seeds.
Dark chocolate Good news for those of us that love chocolate. It is not a myth that eating
Dark chocolate produces chemicals in the brain that bring about a euphoria or a feel good mental state.
Fermented foods are foods in which natural bacteria feed on the starch, and sugar within the food, and in turn makes lactic acid. This process is called lactofermentation.
This process has many health benefits. It generates beneficial enzymes, acts as a preservative for the food, makes B vitamins, makes different types of probiotics, as well as the heralded Omega-3 fatty acids.
B vitamins are particularly effective in alleviating, and combating stress, and fermented foods provide a highly bio available form of these nutrients that the body can easily absorb, and utilize.
Some common fermented foods are: sauerkraut, yogurt, tempeh, miso, natto, kefir, pickles, and apple cider vinegar.
Some common fermented drinks are: beer, wine, and mead.
Dark, leafy, green veggies contain high levels of folate, which has been shown to help the body produce serotonin, and dopamine, the mood regulators, and thus fend off depression, and elevate mood.
These powerful vegetables include: swiss chard, spinach, mustard greens, kale, collard greens, turnip greens, and romaine lettuce.
Asparagus, although not a dark, leafy green, is also high in folate, and provides the same calming affect.
Avocados are also high in folate, and they contain other B vitamins which are very beneficial in reducing feelings of stress.
How to destress with berries
Many berries, especially blueberries are high in anti oxidant content, which has many health benefits including improving cognition, which is the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses.
Every type of berry has a high content of Vitamin C, which is known to be helpful in reducing stress, blood pressure, and cortisol levels.
What you may have heard about nuts is true. They contain many nutrients that are beneficial to our health.
Two different nuts are particularly useful in stress reduction. They are walnuts, and cashews.
Walnuts are shaped like a brain. Coincidence? I think not. Pardon the pun. They contain folate, tryptophan, and melatonin, and can increase seratonin levels in the brain.
These processes help reduce stress, and can produce feelings of well being, and relaxation.
Cashews are a great source of the mineral zinc. Higher levels of zinc have been shown to alleviate anxiety, and depression.
They also contain B vitamins, Omega 3 fatty acids, and tryptophan, which combine to decrease stress.
Herbs that help with how to destress
In addition to the various foods that help alleviate stress, there are many herbs that can contribute to the battle to combat stress. The best known stress fighting herbs are:
Kava Kava: This herb is common to Polynesia, or the south Pacific islands.
Also known as just Kava, it has a calming mental effect when the roots are brewed.
It is useful in relaxing anxiety, and even social anxiety, without any known side effects as with pharmaceutical drugs used for the same purpose.
Ashwagandha Having Indian Aruydvedic medicinal beginnings, this useful herb has been used for thousands of years to alleviate anxiety, and stress.
It is the roots of Ashwaganda that contain the active ingredients that produce it’s positive effects.
Chamomile This versatile herb can be used as a tea, or as a supplement. It is known to be an excellent nerve, and mind calming tonic.
It is perhaps best known as a sleep inducing herb that has been used as such for hundreds of years.
Passion Flower Another Polynesian wonder herb, this beautiful color laden plant can also help alleviate stress, and extreme anxiety, and is an excellent mind calming sleep aid. A positive side effect is as an aphrodisiac.
Lavender Although lavender can be calleda flower, and is also often used as an essential oil. It’s scent alone is often enough to bring about a state of relaxation, and peacefulness.
Lavender is an age old secret for inducing sleep in infants. Drinking the infused tea is another method of producing it’s destressing properties.
Using foods and herbs to help you deal with our stressful world, is an easy, and positive step. It is however, only part of the destress equation.
You should also include moderate exercise, meditation, massage, time away from work, communing with nature, and discovering your spiritual side, in your stress fighting arsenal.
In learning how to destress, take heed to the old adage,” take time to smell the roses”, or in other words, slow down and enjoy life.
The foods we eat, and our lifestyles can either help us minimize or alleviate stress, or it can add stress to our lives.
It is important that we keep stress under control, and we can do it with a few simple changes in diet, and lifestyle. What will you choose to do?
Please leave any questions, or comments below. I will be sure to respond directly. Also, feel free to like and share on your favorite social media.
Welcome to Top Foods Fight Cancer. If you knew that by eating certain foods, and by not eating other foods, you could cut your cancer risk by over 90%, you would do it, wouldn’t you?
It is true. You can do it. Your diet for cancer is vitally important.
Did you know that at the turn of the century in the year 1900, just over a hundred years ago, cancer was almost unheard of?
What changed? What are we doing differently than what our ancestors did?
As more and more people migrated to the cities from the farms, a demand was created for food to be provided for the city residents. It was discovered that if this food could be preserved, and processed, it could increase profits.
An entire industry was born that was, and is dedicated to processing, and adulterating foods for unaware people that needed the convenience of going to a store to buy their needed food staples.
In addition, it was discovered that by adding chemicals to crops, both before and after planting, that the harvest could have a greater yield, and make more money for the farmer, and others in the food supply chain.
Cancer was uncommon at turn of last century.
Most folks in this time, around the year 1900, worked outdoors for 12-14 hours a day, most every day. Skin cancer was simply non existent. The reason why cancers are so common today, is primarily our poor diet.
In America, it is known as SAD, Standard American Diet. We now know that skin cancer is primarily caused by bad oils in our diet, called partially hydrogenated, or hydrogenated oils, as well as other heated oils.
These and other bad oils that are so ubiquitous in our diet, cause skin cell membranes to lose their ability to excrete wastes, and absorb nutrients.
As a result, exposure to the sun can go from being good for us, by providing much needed vitamin D3, to causing serious issues to our skin health.
It’s true that top foods fight cancer, but unfortunately, it’s also true that bad foods feed cancer, and can make it worse.
Other bad foods to avoid include smoked meats, grilled or barbequed meats, red meat, processed meats, refined sugar, and other processed foods.
Smoked meats, either smoked to preserve the meats, or as a cooking method, are both carcinogenic, and should be put on your do not eat list.
Grilled or barbequed meats create a char on the surface of the meat. These chars are called heterocyclic amines, and are known to cause cancer.
Many processed meats such as packaged bologna, and other canned, or packaged meats contain the carcinogenic food additives sodium nitrate, and sodium nitrite.
Other dangerous, cancer causing food additives to avoid are Butylated HydroxyAnisole (BHA), a preservative found in crackers, butter, cereals, beer, and added fat foods.
Refined sugar is everywhere in processed foods. These sugars are quite possibly the most harmful substance we can put in our bodies. They feed cancer, and should be avoided like the plague.
Good, healthy alternatives to refined sugar are raw, unheated honey, organic stevia, organic agave nectar, and organic maple syrup.
Always read the labels on food packaging, and if it contains any of these aforementioned cancer causing agents or additives, I suggest looking for an alternative.
The Glycemic Index will give you the effect of blood glucose levels of most foods. Avoid the high glycemic, and medium glycemic foods, especially the processed, and refined foods. Low glycemic foods that are real foods are best, and are top foods fight cancer.
It is also known that alcoholic beverages are harmful, and carcinogenic. Many of these beverages are fermented, like wine, and beer, and are less harmful than many other alcoholic type drinks, but the alcohol is the problem, and the less consumed of it, the better.
As many as 400 million cups of coffee are consumed by Americans every day, and some 400 billion cups of coffee are drank worldwide in a year. Safe to say that Americans love coffee.
This statement could make you unhappy if you are like me, and love your morning coffee.
Coffee creates a carcinogenic atmosphere in the body, not to mention it puts a load on the kidneys, flogs the adrenals which can cause anxiety, is a diuretic, and contains caffeine that constricts blood vessels( which can actually be a positive for migraine headaches )
Coffee does however, have good anti oxidant properties, and organic coffee enemas with good anti infective herbs are a very effective liver detox, and cleanser.
Coffee has also been shown to have positive effects on preventing colon cancer. By drinking one to two cups of joe per day, you may be able to lower your colon cancer risk by up to 50%.
Coffee has also been shown to help prevent Parkinsons disease, can help with Alzheimers disease, reducing the risk of adult onset, or Type ll diabetes, reduce the risk of Asthma attacks, and relieve Migraine headaches.
Coffee can help reduce LDL, or bad cholesterol, and also helps lower inflammation in the body.
There are many foods that we can eat that can protect us from, and help us fight, and defeat cancer. Here is the list:
9 Top Foods Fight Cancer Food Groups

Marijuana (Cannabis) CBD Oil Can hinder the spread and growth of some cancers. By fighting inflammation and oxidative stress CBD oil shows much promise in this most important area. CBD oil is also effective in controlling symptoms such as pain, and anxiety.
Top foods fight cancer, and so do many compounds, or supplements.
Compounds (supplements ) to fight cancer
Vitamin E You want the natural vitamin E, d alpha tocopherol, not the synthetic version of vitamin E, dl alpha tocopherol.
Chlorella a super green that contains high levels of beta carotene, minerals, and vitamin B-12.
Indole 3 Carbinol (I3C), Effective against many cancers, especially those cancers with a hormonal base.
Modified Citrus Pectin Has shown ability to limit metastases of cancer cells.
The role of the PH in fighting cancer.
Top foods fight cancer, and can even help raise your PH. It is now known that cancer cannot live in an oxygen rich environment.
Your PH is the level of acidity/alkilinity in your blood, and tissues.
Generally, the more acidic you are, the less oxygen you have, and the more alkaline you are the more oxygen you have.
Most people have an acidic ph. Ideally though, you want to be slightly alkiline, between 6.4-7.0 on the PH scale to achieve your optimum oxygen levels.
The best way to find out what your PH levels are, is to buy a roll of PH paper, and test your first morning PH by taking a piece of the PH paper and running it under your urine.
Be sure to do this before eating or drinking anything. You then compare this paper with the color chart to know your PH level.
Most people are in the low to mid 5’s on the scale, which is quite acidic, and can be directly attributed to the lack of minerals in our diets, and/or our inability to digest our food properly in order to absorb these nutrients.
Top 10 Most Alkaline Foods (Eat these foods) These Top Foods Fight Cancer
These top foods fight cancer, and some may grow in your own back yard.

Apricots, or more specifically apricot kernals have shown many health benefits, including anti-cancer activity.
Also called laetrile, amygdalin, or vitamin B17, apricot kernals have been around for thousands of years, especially in the cool, arid climates where the trees grow naturally.
Countries where the apricot tree grows naturally include, China, Armenia, and India, among others. Although many other fruits also contain amygdalin, apricot kernals have the highest concentrations, as well as accompanying enzymes.
These substances have shown ability to help breast cancer, and other cancerous tumors. Apricot kernals are relatively inexpensive, and easily found online, and in health food stores.
There are still locations outside of the United States where apricot kernal’s B17 and laetrile therapies are available.
Consumption of apricots, and apricot kernals have been attributed as a major cause of the long lives, and great health of a civilzation called the Hunzas, where it is not uncommon for people to live as long as 135 years with no signs of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or arthritis.

Not only do top foods fight cancer, but so do essential oils. Essential oils are not foods per se, but their natural, positive, zero side effect activity in fighting cancer is too important to omit.
Essential oils have been around for millenia, and have a myriad of health benefits, including fighting cancer.
There are 5 essential oils in particular that show direct positive effects against cancer.
Oregano Essential Oil
This is not the oregano that is found as a spice in most supermarkets in the US. Rather, it is wild oregano that is native to the Mediterranean.
In addition to it’s anti-microbial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties, the carvacrol in oregano is effective against prostate cancer cells.

There are 3 key components to the digestive process:
1. Hydrochloric acid levels Hydrochloric acid plays a key role in digestion in the stomach. As food enters the stomach the HCL breaks it down, kills any pathogens, and allows the nutrients to be sent to the blood stream and then to the cells of the body.
As we age, the levels of HCL decrease due to the amount of cooked, processed food we ingest. Usually around the age of 40, the HCL levels in the stomach have decreased enough to where some of the food we eat sits in the stomach instead of being digested, and rots, turning into lactic acid.
There are many foods that can actually help with digestion.
Raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes. These raw foods contain their own digestive enzymes that catalyze the digestive process, and don’t deplete your stomach’s stores of precious hydrochloric acid, or digestive enzymes such as pepsin.
Best foods digestion also includes fermented foods. Fermented foods aid in digestion, and boost immunity. The most common fermented foods are yogurt, sauerkraut, pickles, kimchi, natto, kefir, tempeh, miso, cacao, sourdough, apple cider vinegar, and various other vegetables.
It is relatively easy, and inexpensive to ferment your own foods. As an example, sauerkraut is quite easy to make.
You will need a cabbage, preferably organic, a large mason jar, a cutting board, sharp knife, some sun dried sea salt, and some filtered or distilled water, about a half a liter for this batch.
Do not use chlorinated water. Simply take a cabbage, cut it up into small pieces.
Place the cabbage into your bowl, save a few good size pieces dry to place on top of the mixture in the jar to help give it an air tight seal.
In your jar, pour a half liter of filtered or distilled water, and about a tablespoon of your sun dried sea salt.
Stir the sea salt in the jar’s water, and pour it into the bowl with your cut up cabbage. Massage the mixture in the bowl with your hands.
With your hands, take out the cabbage and place in the jar, pressing down as you go to keep the air out. Once you have the jar almost full, add the water from the bowl into the jar.
Fill it close to the top, about 90% full, and then add the dry pieces of cabbage that you saved to give it an air tight seal, or as close as you can get it.
Seal the jar tightly, but not too tightly, and some pressure will build with time, and expand the mixture.
Be sure to place a plastic bag or something else underneath the jar to catch any water that may seep out. Leave on your counter for about 5 to 7 days.
Once you open the jar, you can place it in the refrigerator, or a cellar that is approximately 55 degrees fahrenheit.
This will halt the fermentation process. Many other vegetables can be fermented in a similar fashion.
If you don’t want to ferment your own food, or only on occasion, no problem. Fermented foods are available at most supermarkets, but best to buy them at markets that specialize in organic products such as Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme, Trader Joe’s and many others.
It is a good idea to eat at least one fermented food with each meal.
Many drinks are fermented, and have been enjoyed for many centuries, such as wine, beer, beet kvass, mead, kombucha, buttermilk, and ginger ale.
Unfortunately, in this day and age, many of these products have been adulterated with chemicals, preservatives, and much of the ingredients are from GMO, genetically modified organisms which render many of these drinks as ineffective, and may even be harmful for you.
If you can create these drinks yourself, you can assure yourself that the result will be pure, and it is your best bet. If not, try to buy organic, non GMO products from health food, or organic stores. Fermented foods and drinks qualify as best foods digestion.
Some foods help coat the inside of your colon, and are soothing to your intestines, such as raw aloe vera, slippery elm bark, raw eggs, Irish moss, and chia seeds.
Easily digestible foods
Some foods will not necessarily aid in digestion, but they will at least not create a burden to your digestive processes. Fresh non farm raised fish, such as wild Alaskan salmon, free of antibiotics, and hormones that is either prepared raw, or baked can be easily digested.
Free range chicken, free of antibiotics and hormones that is not fried, and ideally baked, is easy on your tummy.
Lean meats that are free of antibiotics, and hormones, grass fed, and not fried, are much easier to digest than typical fatty red meats that are so common in our American diet. More best foods digestion.
Coconut oil: expeller pressed, unrefined, organic coconut oil contains fatty acids and anti microbial properties that aid digestion.
Ghee or clarified butter: unlike regular butter, at room temperature, ghee won’t spoil and rancidify.
In fact, ghee retains it freshness and flavor for as long as a year. Ghee aids in digestion by stimulating the secretion of acid in the stomach that help break down food.
Bone broth: bone broth contains a gelatanious substance that attracts and holds moisture that helps seal and heal the gut. which supports optimum digestion.
Bones from organically raised, grass fed, anti biotic free, and hormone free animals should be used.
Zucchini: zucchini is high in fiber, and provides an effective cleansing on the entire digestive tract, especially the intestines.
It prevents cancer causing toxins to settle in the colon, and it acts as a mild laxative, and cleans the walls of the colon. The majority of nutrients are found in the skin, so it is best not to remove it.
Ginger: ginger helps produce, saliva, gastric juice, and bile to assist in digestion. As a tea, it’s phenolic compounds like gingerol, and other volatile oils, are the reason why it provides such a beneficial effect on the digestive system.
These are the best foods digestion. You will gain many health benefits by including some or all of these foods in your diet.
Fixing your digestion is the single most important thing you can do for your health. Digestion is foundational for a healthy body.
